Free Public Transport trial in Dordrecht
The city council of Dordrecht decided to start up a free public transport trial for the elderly. The council stresses the importance of mobility for the elderly and for them to be able to travel with as little barriers as possible. They can take part in this trial for the duration of one year.
All inhabitants of 65 years and over received an information letter, with instructions on applying and using the free 65+ Gemakspas. The trial runs from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. The following conditions apply to this action:
Free travel on all Arriva busses in Dordrecht on weekdays
after 9 AM and all day on weekends;
Travel on the Arriva train (MerwedeLingeliijn between
Dordrecht and Geldermalsen) with a 40% discount. This
discount applies on weekdays after 9 AM and all day on
weekends.
Yoonison took care of the mailing to over 19,000 elderly people in Dordrecht, and will process all applications in the coming month. Yoonison provides the plastic card with personal data and a picture and sends them to the applicants on behalf of the city council.
