The Maritime Security ID Card or MSIC (www.msic.com.au) is an Australian Government initiative to identify an individual's capability to go onto a port site unaccompanied to perform their operational need / job.

This program is monitored by the Australian Department of Transport and Regional Affairs and each applicant is required to provide their online application through the Multicard built web site a photo, Primary and Secondary proof of identity witnessed by a Justice of the Peace and a letter of operational need from their employer. Cards are printed on approval of background checks by AUSCHECK, The Department of Attorney Generals Background checking unit, and carry a Holographic (Kinogram® by Kurtz) seal laminated into the card. All cards are dispatch by registered mail through Australia Post.
